1st Shift Material Handler

About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for shipping-related handling and daily warehouse tasks. This includes preparing units for shipment, transporting units from assembly to shipping, picking and packing UPS shipments, processing dunnage, monitoring inventory discrepancies, and maintaining safe, clean work areas. The role follows shipping, packaging, and sales-order instructions to support on-time delivery and comply with the Quality Management System.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
1–5 years of experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to read and write legibly in English.
Ability to speak English via a two-way radio.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Forklift experience required, including sit-down and reach trucks.
Ability to meet production standards and follow instructions.

Nice To Haves

Computer skills and knowledge of MRP systems preferred.
1–5 years of experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Band, shrink-wrap, and stage units for shipment, and load staged units onto trucks.
Transport units from assembly to the shipping area.
Follow shipping and packaging work instructions.
Follow sales-order dates to help meet on-time delivery goals.
Pick and pack UPS shipments.
Process dunnage, including scrap pallets and returnables.
Check the hot sheet daily.
Report inventory discrepancies.
Use safe working practices while operating machines.
Keep machines and work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
Comply with the Quality Management System.
Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
