About The Position

The Material Handler supports manufacturing departments by operating a sit-down and/or stand-up forklift to stack or move products and materials. This is a first-shift position from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The role includes transporting materials, tracking inventory and material movement, checking equipment and materials for safety or damage, and maintaining an orderly work area.

Requirements

Certification to operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts.
Prior forklift-driving certification and ability to recertify upon hire.
Manage time efficiently.
Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
Ability to safely use hand tools such as a hammer, tin snips, crowbar, and utility knife.
Regularly stand and/or walk.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Follow all forklift safety practices while operating a lift.
Read work orders to determine the appropriate materials required.
Use a forklift to deliver materials, and return and log unused materials to storage.
Store and log completed materials on racks in the stock area after they are manufactured.
Scan all rolls when moving them from location to location.
Perform inventory transactions in the computer system.
Perform forklift safety and maintenance checks before first use each shift.
Verify materials are not damaged before transporting them to or from storage areas.
Report damage to a supervisor.
Maintain an orderly, neat, and safe work area.
Remove waste from production areas.
Perform other activities as required by Management.
