About The Position

The Material Handler receives, stores, and issues hand tools, materials, and equipment. The role maintains records and inventory, locates missing tools, and handles incoming supplies. It also involves inspecting, identifying, repairing, servicing, and lubricating tools and equipment, as well as performing other temporary duties on a regular basis.

Requirements

• High school education or GED, or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate problem-solving, technical, interpersonal, oral communication, teamwork, ethical, organizational, judgment, motivational, planning, professional, quality, productivity, safety, adaptability, attendance, dependability, and initiative competencies.

Responsibilities

• Issue tools and equipment to employees and maintain records of items issued and returned.
• Locate lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
• Prepare periodic inventories or maintain perpetual inventories of tools and equipment.
• Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools and supplies.
• Notify the supervisor of inventory shortages.
• Report tool damage to supervisors.
• Repair, service, and lubricate tools and equipment.
• Mark and identify tools and equipment.
• Perform other temporary duties on a regular basis.
