Material Handler
About The Position
Nox Metals is a technology company in Ferndale, Michigan, supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. Material Handlers keep metal flowing through the factory, moving materials from receipt through processing and shipment. The role involves receiving, moving, staging, and shipping aluminum, operating forklifts, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring material locations are accurately recorded in the company’s systems. The company will train and certify employees on forklifts and cranes. As employees grow in the role, they will learn to use the bandsaw and other equipment. The position reports to the Shift Lead and is full time and in person in Ferndale.
Requirements

- Forklift or warehouse experience, or willingness and ability to learn and become certified.
- Attention to detail with loads, labels, and shipments.
- Coachability and curiosity about broader floor operations.
- Team-oriented attitude.
- Ownership and responsibility for assigned shift duties.
- Reliability and steadiness under pressure.
- Comfort with software or willingness to learn.
- Organization and dependability.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate heavy equipment, and remain on one's feet for a full shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work outside normal hours when needed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Forklift and/or overhead crane certification.
- Experience with bandsaws, industrial saws, or metals handling.
- Comfort using AI tools to work faster and smarter.
Responsibilities
- Follow OSHA and site safety protocols and hold teammates to the same standard.
- Operate forklifts to receive, stage, and move aluminum plate, bar, and rounds.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Receive inbound material and verify it against purchase orders.
- Package, label, and stage outbound shipments.
- Accurately record material movements in software systems.
- Keep the floor clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Learn to operate the bandsaw and other metals equipment as the role develops.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
