About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently and systematically moving materials, products, and goods within a production facility. The role also supports production operations as needed to meet manufacturing requirements. The starting pay rate is $24.40 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to operate lift trucks, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
• Ability to follow established written and verbal instructions.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of material-handling experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing management systems and ERP; SAP is preferred.
• Knowledge of workflow in a production facility.
• Team-oriented approach, desire to learn and succeed, leadership, and a proactive self-starter mindset.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, discipline, attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and transfer orders and move materials physically and in the company’s systems.
• Perform cycle counts and ship finished goods and materials.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
• Operate production equipment according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Participate in safety programs and proactively uphold the safety culture.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Perform required equipment inspections and sweep, dust, mop, and organize the warehouse or work area to support safe operations.
• Cross-train and assist in other areas depending on workload.
• Complete other tasks as needed or directed by management.
