About The Position

The Material Handler (Ground Hand) supports daily yard and supply chain operations by safely receiving, storing, tracking, staging, and distributing pipe and related materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and product traceability. The role involves assisting with loading and unloading, material staging, inventory control, equipment operation, truck inspections, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. Work is primarily outdoors in a fast-paced industrial setting and requires physical labor, attention to safety, and a strong work ethic.

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills.

Experience working in a pipe yard, steel yard, construction, oil and gas, or industrial environment.
Forklift experience.
Experience loading and unloading flatbeds.
Pipe yard operations experience.
OCTG and line pipe handling experience.
Flatbed truck loading experience.

Yard equipment experience.
Tallying tools experience.

Responsibilities

Manage the loading, unloading, and staging of pipe and related materials.
Assist with receiving and shipping activities.
Verify material quantities, heat numbers, lengths, and product identification.
Operate yard equipment, including backhoe, dozer, forklifts, sweeper, and dust suppressant sprayer.
Conduct visual inspections of incoming and outgoing materials.
Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
Band, tag, and prepare materials for customer orders and shipment.
Maintain yard organization and housekeeping standards.
Assist truck drivers with safe loading and unloading practices.
Perform general labor duties as needed to support operations.
Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
