Material Handler I st shift & Material Handler 2st shift
About The Position
We have two full-time Material Handler positions available, one on the 1st shift and one on the 2nd shift. The 1st shift hours are Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Saturdays as needed. The 2nd shift hours are Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. and Saturdays as needed. These roles are essential for transporting materials, loading/unloading trucks, and serving as a liaison between the warehouse and production teams. The positions require adherence to food safety and quality standards, operation of material handling equipment, and accurate data entry. The work environment is a refrigerated production facility with potential exposure to allergens, moving parts, loud equipment, and vibration. Candidates must be able to lift at least 45 lbs regularly and possess good communication and mathematical skills.
Requirements
- 6 months -12 months' experience in a warehouse environment
- Experience with stand-up fork trucks is a must
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and as a member of a team
- Ability to work on a computer
- Ability to lift at least 45 lbs. on a regular basis to waist height and above head
- Ability to see and analyze product at close range, from a distance, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to stand, walk, handle, kneel, bend, twist, stoop, climb and descend stairs, communicate with team members
- Must understand FIFO and FEFO concepts
- Operate sit down fork truck and standing fork truck in a safe manner
- Effective operation of computer, keyboard, and mouse
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred
- Basic inventory and warehousing knowledge is preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is beneficial, but not a must
Responsibilities
- Transport raw materials and packaging using a variety of material handling equipment (Crown Standup)
- Load and unload trucks according to schedule and in a safe and timely manner
- Serve as a liaison between the warehouse and the production team
- Stage raw ingredients according for production according to production schedule
- Interpret batch sheets to accurately stage raw ingredients for production
- Ensure proper breakdown of batch recipes by appropriately converting gallons to pounds and pounds to kilograms with the assistance of a calculator
- Ensure effective and professional communication with team members and site leadership
- Ensuring that incoming and outgoing products meet strict food safety and quality requirements
- Operate sit down fork truck and standing fork truck in a safe manner
- Accurate data entry both written and in computer warehousing program
- Participate in inventory cycle counts both on and off-site
- Responsible for ensuring work area is clean, organized, and free of obstructions
- Wear appropriate PPE where required
- Strictly adhere to all safety policies
- Follow company GMPs and all other quality and food safety programs as they relate to the warehouse department
- All other duties as assigned
