About The Position

Under close supervision, the Material Handler performs physical and administrative tasks related to material handling, including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, returns, and storage. The position involves lifting heavy items and operating a forklift. The work shift is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Requirements

Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and zero to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to understand and carry out oral, written, and diagram-based instructions.
Basic computer skills, including information processing.
Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Forklift-operation certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Certification to handle hazardous material shipments.
Ability to regularly stand, walk, talk, hear, and lift; occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds, with assistance as necessary.

Responsibilities

Unload shipments and direct their movement from the shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments in the Warehouse Management System, ensuring the correct product, quality, and quantity.
Gather, verify, and place items into order-picking containers for outgoing shipments.
Prepare packing slips, shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documents.
Keep warehouse work areas and equipment clean, orderly, and properly maintained.
Replenish primary stock shelves from reserve stock locations as needed.
Operate a forklift.
Work after hours as needed.
May perform driving duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
