About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Minooka, Illinois, to support warehouse fulfillment and distribution of consumer packaged goods. The role performs warehouse functions that may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting. Work takes place in a clean, organized facility that prioritizes safety. The position pays $21.63 per hour, plus a $1.00-per-hour shift differential, with weekly pay. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The position reports to the Logistics Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One or more years of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator’s license/certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment and maintain professional relationships across organizational levels.
• Thoroughness, dependability, punctuality, and a good attendance record.
• High degree of initiative and accuracy, including under pressure.
• Ability to lift and/or push or pull up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work using health and safety methods.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule across various work shifts.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent follow-up practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions that may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Perform duties within the contract’s performance measurement guidelines.
• Accurately pick and pack, audit, induct totes, stage products, and load and unload trucks.
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork, such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for aspects of the automated packing system during the core production shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
