About The Position

Under limited supervision, this role is expected to perform job duties safely, cost-effectively, and with a client focus in a team environment. The position requires good judgment and initiative in accurately managing day-to-day transactions, including receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for various materials, supplies, and equipment. The role involves maintaining positive and effective communications, utilizing computerized warehouse management systems and tools, and working with planners and buyers to ensure material availability. The Material Handler may also be responsible for procuring and expediting material and conducting operations consistent with SRP rules, regulations, and reporting requirements. This role is temporary.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Utilityman in Supply Chain/Water Delivery, Tradeshelper in Water Delivery/Line, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paperwork.
  • Must work safely and efficiently.
  • Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers, and the public.
  • Subject to out-of-town work, call-outs, and changing shifts.
  • Must pass a Physical Agility Test.
  • Must adhere to Drug/Alcohol Policy Statement, considering marijuana illegal for policy purposes due to federal law.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • SRP does not sponsor H1B visas, OPT, or other employment-related visas.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and promoting an environment of stewardship towards SRP inventory and assets.
  • Receiving, storing, and issuing material, supplies, and equipment and completing all associated documentation.
  • Initiating purchase requests, including open order requisitions, or writing emergency pickup orders for special items as needed.
  • Safely and competently operating all equipment associated with material handling.
  • Utilizing computerized warehouse management systems and tools for planning, assigning, tracking, and reporting work activities.
  • Receiving, examining, and reconditioning salvage material and preparing documents for processing.
  • Interfacing with Supply Chain partners and vendors to meet client material reservations.
  • Following up with clients regarding material reservations and ensuring resolution.
  • Working within a team to meet material needs; may lead team members to facilitate project completion.
  • Safely handling/processing hazardous waste and various other regulated substances according to state and federal standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Working safely and efficiently in the performance of job duties.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, customers, and the public.
  • Understanding and carrying out oral and written instructions.
  • Accurately and legibly completing applicable paperwork.
  • Working a reasonable amount of overtime as required.
