About The Position

North Freeze Dry is seeking Material Handlers for their new freeze-drying manufacturing facility in Little Falls, MN. This role is crucial in supporting the company's mission to be a trusted partner in manufacturing premium freeze-dried food and treats for companion animals. The Material Handler will be responsible for moving product between processing lines using forklifts and other equipment, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to accept constructive feedback for growth.
  • Ability to follow proper food safety, quality, and workspace safety procedures and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for an extended period.
  • Forklift experience (6+ months preferred) and certification, or willingness to learn and obtain certification (training provided).
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Driven to continually grow and develop your role.
  • Ability to adapt and accommodate change.

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months working experience in a manufacturing/production facility preferred.
  • Forklift experience (6+ months preferred) and certification, or willingness to learn and obtain certification (training provided).

Responsibilities

  • Moving materials and products via forklift and other equipment.
  • Maintaining logs and records of units produced, including errors and rejected materials.
  • Performing pre-operational equipment checks, preventative maintenance tasks, and process inspections.
  • Executing quality and sanitation functions according to the Quality Program and Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Reporting maintenance and quality opportunities to shift supervisors and/or managers.
  • Interfacing with the plant ERP system for inventory control, lot traceability, and tracking.
  • Practicing appropriate inventory control using the plant ERP System.
  • Loading and unloading products and inputting product information into the plant ERP System.
  • Following protocols and procedures outlined in the operations manuals.
  • Moving and delivering product within the facility.
  • Assisting operators by ensuring they have the necessary materials.
  • Finalizing shift paperwork accurately, clearly, and concisely.
  • Adhering to all quality guidelines, Master Sanitation Schedules, and maintaining a food-safe, sanitary environment.
  • Supporting other production and manufacturing lines as needed.
  • Maintaining clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
  • Inspecting forklifts per the inspection schedule and performing upkeep on equipment/forklifts.
