About The Position

The Material Handler receives, stores and distributes raw materials and supplies to designated staging areas. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate and plant safety standards, operating a forklift to unload and load shipments, visually inspecting materials for quality discrepancies, preparing materials for the grinding process, and transporting materials to appropriate staging areas. The Material Handler also transports scrapped materials to the grinder area, maintains the cleanliness of the ramp, dock, and compactor areas, and keeps their assigned work area clean and orderly. This position may require reasonable mandatory overtime due to business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
Operate forklift to unload inbound and outbound shipments.
Visually inspect materials and report discrepancies in quality.
Prepare materials for grinding process.
Transport and store materials, finished products and supplies to appropriate staging area. Report locations for proper labeling.
Transport scrapped materials from production line to the grinder area.
Maintain cleanliness of ramp, dock and compactor area.
Keep assigned work area clean and orderly and dispose of scrap material properly.
Perform all work in order to ensure the safety of yourself and all other plant personnel.
