About The Position

This position works on 2nd shift, Wed-Sat (Schedule may change due to business needs) 7:15pm - 5:45am. The rate for this position is $16.50 per hour with a shift differential of $1.25 per hour. The role is responsible for palletizing finished goods, ensuring pallets are wrapped for stability and neatness. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, and maintaining material to assigned machine units, and operating assigned equipment safely and efficiently. The position also focuses on meeting quality, output, and production goals. This includes preparing finished products according to USPS standards, verifying correct material for the production line, loading/unloading materials into machines, performing basic machine setup, adjusting machine components, troubleshooting, and responding to machine indicators. Clearing jams and addressing end-of-line machine errors are also key functions. The role requires supporting and complying with safety and security policies, internal/external audits, and housekeeping standards. Additionally, the Material Handler is responsible for training and supporting new and existing team members. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 0-1 year related experience
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to assess obstacles and make minor non-mechanical adjustments to ensure safety and maintenance procedures are followed
  • Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment).
  • Ability to work overtime beyond regular schedule to complete work assignments as required.

Responsibilities

  • Palletizing finished goods and ensuring pallets are wrapped in a manner that maintains stability and neatness.
  • Loading, unloading, and maintaining material to assigned machine units.
  • Safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment (different types of equipment varying from 227, Alphaliner, and Ferag).
  • Meeting quality, output, and production goals.
  • Preparing all finished products according to established USPS standards.
  • Verifying correct material for production line, and loading and unloading materials into the machine.
  • Performing basic machine setup (including being able to work the machine interface or machine controls), adjusting machine components, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Responding to the indicator lights and display screens and knowing the actions required to mitigate the issue.
  • Clearing jams and addressing errors on end of line machine components.
  • Supporting and complying with safety and security policies to promote a healthy working environment, including housekeeping standards.
  • Supporting and complying with internal and external audits, to include providing information, performing assigned tasks to ensure compliance, and preparing and maintaining evidence that key duties identified as internal controls have been performed.
  • Training and supporting new and existing team members.
