On-Call Material Handler
About The Position
Klean Kanteen is building an on-call list of qualified people to assist its Operations / Distribution team during busy warehouse periods. This is not a regular, ongoing position. Temporary team members are contacted as needed, sometimes on short notice, and may choose whether to accept each shift. Declining a shift does not remove someone from the list. Work depends on business needs, so hours and shift frequency vary, and placement on the list does not guarantee a set number of shifts or hours. Assignments vary according to warehouse needs and may include unloading and palletizing incoming goods, staging products and building pallets to specification, picking and packing orders, reworking packaging, assembling inventory kits and customer-specific compliance assemblies, moving and restocking inventory, and keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe. The role is onsite in a warehouse in Chico, California, and requires standing for long periods, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and sustaining up to two hours of physical activity while unloading freight containers. Work may take place in varying weather conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to read and communicate in English.
- Basic computer skills and comfort using a handheld scanner.
- Availability to respond to calls and work on short notice.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, sustain up to two hours of physical activity unloading freight containers, and work in varying weather conditions.
