About The Position

Primary responsibility: Safe and efficient receiving, handling, and storage of all products within the Granite Falls warehouse. This role requires knowledge and practice of all applicable safety rules and procedures, including safe lifting practices, safe product storage methods, and safe operation of forklift and electric tugger. The Material Handler will be responsible for operating a forklift and tugger safely and efficiently, and must pass certification for forklift operation (training will be provided for the right person). They will also be responsible for safely and efficiently storing all finished goods from Granite manufacturing lines, knowing all stock locations/products and area designations, and understanding correct labeling requirements. The ability to identify and differentiate various inventoried products and characteristics, and to read and understand all applicable forms and paperwork involved in the Warehousing Department is essential. This role also involves taking initiative to maintain good 5S housekeeping and a clean and orderly work environment, as well as making constructive suggestions involving safety and productivity improvements.

Requirements

Knowledge and practice of all applicable safety rules and procedures including safe lifting practices, safe product storage methods, and safe operation of forklift and electric tugger.

6 months experience in manufacturing.
Must be dependable, responsible and willing to adhere to all Pregis policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Safe and efficient receiving, handling, and storage of all products within the Granite Falls warehouse.

Consolidate stock items to make room for additional product storage.
Determine appropriate stocking location for product.
Work closely with other material handlers and production personnel to ensure timely transfer of product to warehouse.
Work closely with Production Department to ensure timely and accurate reporting of product receipt locations.
Maintain good communication with Supervisors and others.
Report all problems or potential problems and delays to Department Lead or Supervisor.
Communicate all pertinent warehouse information to oncoming shift.
Assist with training of less experienced material handlers.
