Material Handler
About The Position
The Material Handler assists in all phases of dock operations and reports to the Dock Lead and Senior Manager of Logistics and Aftermarket. The role supports dock operations serving Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County locations as needed. The position requires a positive work history, preferably with warehouse experience, and the ability to communicate in English, understand simple instructions, and handle materials safely. Bilingual ability is a plus. The job specification does not limit the duties to those listed; the employee may be instructed to perform other related duties as required by a supervisor.
Requirements
- One to two years of positive work history, preferably warehouse experience.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to understand simple instructions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 20 lbs.
- Ability to process materials safely, efficiently, and securely.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special needs.
- Ability to perform work with required quantity and quality.
- Ability to follow safe lifting and loading/unloading practices and report hazards promptly.
- Ability to communicate clearly, follow instructions, work well with others, and receive and give constructive feedback.

Responsibilities
- Keep the dock area clean, safe, organized, and clutter-free.
- Assist with unloading trucks and trailers.
- Deliver full bins to their respective areas.
- Meet deadlines and respond to special needs or changing priorities.
- Report safety hazards and damaged or unsafe equipment to management.
- Attend General Assembly, Department, and Safety meetings as required.
- Cooperate with the Lead, Transportation Manager, and co-workers.
- Use carts, bins, and handling tools properly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
