About The Position

Roskam Foods is a contract manufacturer producing and packaging frozen, refrigerated, and shelf-stable food products. The Material Handler moves and stages materials throughout the warehouse or facility to support safe, accurate, and timely production. The role operates lifting equipment, handles materials manually or mechanically, follows FIFO order, records product data, and reports equipment or material problems. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with at least six months of forklift-operator experience. Experience with RF Smart or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate lifting devices, including forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevated platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack materials.
Inspect product loads for accuracy and move them safely around the warehouse or facility to support timely and complete delivery.
Load and unload materials manually or mechanically from pallets, skids, platforms, vehicles, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
Position lifting devices around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure materials or products for transport to designated areas.
Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels.
Understand and follow the order of materials for FIFO.
Forecast production-line needs and stage the line with necessary materials to support smooth production.
Inspect equipment, structures, or materials for errors, problems, or defects and report findings through the appropriate channels.
