About The Position

This role is for a Material Handler on the 2nd shift at the Quincy, IL location. The Material Handler is responsible for various operational duties including knowledge of department order of operations, sampling, weighing, generating customer tickets, and dumping customer grain trucks. They will operate PAX equipment management software, clean out grain bins and scrape hoppers, and be trained on grain grading proficiency. This position requires adherence to all company environmental and safety rules, and involves working in situations where human error could result in financial loss or personal injury. Material handlers are crucial in placing grain throughout the facility, ensuring proper segregation to maintain quality in storage tanks, and rotating product as necessary. Housekeeping is a shared responsibility among all employees.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of department order of operations.
  • Knowledge of the process of Sampling, weighing, generating customer tickets, and dumping customer grain trucks.
  • Know how to operate the PAX equipment management software.
  • Sweeps out grain bins and scrapes hoppers to remove remaining grain.
  • Training on grain grading proficiency.
  • Knowledge of all company environmental and safety rules.
  • Work in situations where human error could result in financial loss or personal injury.
  • Placing grain throughout the facility and ensuring that grain is segregated as needed to maintain good quality in our storage tanks.
  • Rotate product as necessary.
  • Housekeeping is still a job duty of all ADM employees.
  • Ensure product quality expectations are met.
  • Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
  • Work with other colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
  • Participate in morning toolbox, shift exchange/review and response meetings to communicate your key process indicator performance.
  • Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.
  • Required to work overtime as specified by management.
  • Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
