About The Position

This role is for a Material Handler on the 2nd shift in Quincy, IL. The Material Handler is directly involved with placing grain throughout the facility and ensuring that grain is segregated as needed to maintain good quality in our storage tanks. This position requires knowledge of department operations, including sampling, weighing, generating customer tickets, and dumping customer grain trucks. The handler will also operate PAX equipment management software, sweep grain bins, scrape hoppers, and be trained on grain grading proficiency. A strong understanding of company environmental and safety rules is essential, as the role involves situations where human error could lead to financial loss or personal injury. Housekeeping is a shared responsibility among all employees.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of department order of operations.
  • Knowledge of the process of Sampling, weighing, generating customer tickets, and dumping customer grain trucks.
  • Operate the PAX equipment management software.
  • Sweep out grain bins and scrape hoppers to remove remaining grain.
  • Training on grain grading proficiency.
  • Knowledge of all company environmental and safety rules.

  • Place grain throughout the facility and ensure grain is segregated as needed to maintain good quality in storage tanks.
  • Rotate product as necessary.
  • Perform housekeeping duties.
  • Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Ensure product quality expectations are met.
  • Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
  • Ensure area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
  • Work with other colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
  • Participate in morning toolbox, shift exchange/review and response meetings to communicate key process indicator performance.
  • Provide mentoring and training to new colleagues once qualified.
  • Work overtime as specified by management.
  • Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
