About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, and verifying materials to ensure production needs are met. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper material handling to prevent damage, and proactively ordering supplies. The successful candidate will contribute to a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to all procedures and collaborating with the team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to material needs.
Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded team contributor.
Willingness to learn and adhere to safety and inventory control procedures.

Nice To Haves

Previous material handling, inventory control, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Receive, count, and verify materials from SMD Stores, Main Stores, and the Copper Department.
Store materials in designated locations as instructed by the Lead Operator.
Record all received materials and maintain proper documentation.
File material sign-off records in appropriate filing cabinets.
Report any shortages or discrepancies to the Lead Operator and the issuing department.
Regularly check material racks and bins to ensure sufficient hardware is available for production needs.
Perform daily checks on copper extrusion stock to avoid production downtime.
Use internal systems like the Dashboard to proactively order consumables.
Submit requests via the SMD database for additional parts when directed by the Lead Operator.
Ensure proper material handling to avoid damage and preserve quality during movement and storage.
