About The Position

The Material Handler delivers and distributes work in process (WIP), finished goods (FG), and raw materials (RM) to locations throughout the facility. The role helps keep production equipment stocked and ensures shipments are received or delivered on time. It also maintains material availability through periodic or routine inventory audits. The position may be assigned to Production or Warehouse, and duties may vary by work area.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid forklift certification or license.
Two years of forklift experience and/or training.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
Ability to process materials and identify locations, with training and assistance as needed.
Ability to hand-load up to 35 pounds into outbound trucks.
Ability to use a laptop or tablet to look up inventory locations and reference shipping instructions.
Adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines for the work area.

Responsibilities

Accurately and promptly scan materials moving to and from various locations.
Safely operate forklift equipment, including gas and electric fork trucks and battery-changing equipment, while maintaining Nomaco certification.
Complete the forklift safety checklist at the beginning of each shift and notify a supervisor or manager when repairs are needed.
Report equipment, building, product, or other damage to management.
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
Assist with physical inventory counts to audit locations and quantities.
Load and unload materials in the warehouse and on or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
Verify the accuracy of incoming and outbound orders by inspecting materials and accepting or rejecting them as appropriate.
Cycle-count raw materials or finished goods and monitor inventory periodically as needed.
Use a laptop or tablet to look up inventory locations and reference shipping instructions.
Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
