About The Position

The Material Handler works under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor to carry out departmental responsibilities including order fulfillment (picking, packing, and shipping), stocking inventory, and other assigned duties. This position requires the ability to pull and pack orders accurately and efficiently, stock items in correct locations using inventory management and barcode systems, and multitask while adhering to standard operating procedures. The target pay for this position is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to solve general math problems encountered in day-to-day operations.
  • Consistently displays attention to detail.
  • Proficient in oral and written communications, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations.
  • Beginner ability with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software and E-mail.
  • Must be able to lift 80 pounds repetitively.
  • Push/pull up to 80 lbs.
  • The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. above head.
  • The ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching; walking; standing for extended periods of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Perform repetitive motions for extended periods of time.
  • Wear personal safety protection including safety glasses.
  • The ability to climb ladders or steps on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months ‘ related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Order Picking: Assigns orders to boxes ready to ship using a barcode scanner and picks proper item numbers and quantities per the pick list.
  • Order Packing: Uses a barcode scanner to pack orders, packs products in appropriately sized boxes, and prepares and packs products for shipment, including cold shipments requiring ice.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts and hand jacks.
  • Order Shipping: Prepares boxes for shipment utilizing FedEx Ship Manager and UPS World Ship.
  • Inventory: Manually stocks inventory and uses Great Plains inventory program systems manager to complete inquiries and bin transfers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
