About The Position

The Material Handler processes the receipt of materials into the plant in a timely and accurate manner. The role includes receiving, unloading, moving, tracking, and organizing materials, as well as supporting other materials-related functions as needed. Specialized training in hazardous materials shipping, RCRA, and other federal shipping requirements may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate a forklift or aisle stacker within 30 days of beginning the assignment.
• Good knowledge of the local business.
• Computerized inventory systems experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive all raw materials into Saft’s material planning database in a timely manner.
• Unload raw materials delivered via freight carrier.
• Help unload materials delivered to the outside and off-site warehouse.
• Transfer stock physically from the receiving dock to SO2 metals rip locations.
• Enter transactions for items moving into and out of appropriate stock and rip locations.
• Receive and organize items returned by customers and transfer them to the MRB holding area.
• Notify planners about damaged material shipments and shipment shortages.
• Provide backup for the Material Handler, Shipping Coordinator, and MRO Clerk as needed.
• Maintain positive relationships with co-workers.
