About The Position

Industrial Metal Supply (IMS), founded in 1948, is a leading metals distributor with seven locations serving California and Arizona. IMS is committed to employee growth and leadership development. As a Material Handler, you are integral to the success of the business, starting the process by pulling, packing, and wrapping metal bar, sheet, plate, and tube for customer pickup in the will-call department.

Requirements

Must be 18 years and older.
Experience of 6 months to 1 year in material handling preferred in a metal manufacturing environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Pull, pack, and wrap customer material while adhering to the Quality System.
Use tape measures, calipers, or micrometers to confirm material dimensions as requested by customers.
Fulfill orders in a fast-paced environment, including moving material with a forklift.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participate in safety training programs.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
Follow proper lifting and material handling techniques to prevent injuries.
Comply with all environmental regulations related to material handling and storage.
