About The Position

ChampionX, now part of SLB, is hiring a Material Handler in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The role involves safely handling, moving, stacking, inspecting, and preparing materials for use within the assigned department or for shipment. The handler operates assigned equipment, supports crane operations, keeps machines supplied, and maintains an orderly work area. The position is safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing. Work takes place in a heated, ventilated shop, with occasional exposure to outside weather, heat, dirt, and grease.

Requirements

High school completion or equivalent.
Related experience.
Ability to read, write, add, subtract, and follow instructions.
Ability to safely and efficiently handle the physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving materials.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment safely and efficiently to prevent spills or damage to equipment or products.
Understand the mechanics of the assigned unit and ensure it is not neglected or abused.
Ensure materials are properly stacked or tiered and move them to the locations designated on material tags.
Maintain knowledge of materials used in the assigned department, including materials in process and finished products.
Check the hoist, spreader, and spreader chains daily.
Hook and unhook material for the crane operator and keep machines stocked with material.
Move material to the forwarding zone and tag it for other departments.
Keep spacer bars orderly and observe materials for rust and straightness.
Report heats, material condition, defects, and mixed heats to the supervisor in writing.
Safely and efficiently drive trucks, yard truck cranes, truck-tractors with trailers, or winches.
Use binders, chains, winch lines, snatch blocks, side booms, and gin poles properly and safely.
Report needed repairs to the supervisor.
Help load, unload, and check materials received or shipped by the company.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
