Material Handler - Crew D

About The Position

The Material Handler keeps production supplied by moving products and materials between the warehouse and production areas. The role receives production orders and plans deliveries so materials reach production lines promptly and production standards are met. It also handles unused materials, prepares products for shipment, transports products to the warehouse, removes waste, maintains material-handling equipment, and supports housekeeping and sanitation in accordance with good manufacturing procedures. This is a full-time, permanent role on Crew D, working an overnight rotating schedule: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Week 1 is Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday; Week 2 is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Requirements

Ability to keep up with a fast-paced conveyor line.
Ability to drive a forklift and pass the in-company forklift driver training program.
High degree of attention to drive safely and prevent injury to others.
Mental alertness to identify quality issues.
Ability to understand and follow standard procedures.

Responsibilities

Receive production orders and plan material deliveries from the warehouse to production lines.
Remove and replace unused materials.
Transfer unused materials to and from warehouses.
Prepare stock for shipment by securing products with stretch wrap, slip sheets, or pallets.
Use a forklift to transport products from the production floor to the warehouse.
Remove trash product from the oven and production floor and move it to the waste dumpster.
Complete pre-use inspections of material-handling equipment and make operator repairs, such as changing batteries.
Follow housekeeping standards and assist with sanitation duties as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
