About The Position

O'Neal Steel is hiring a Material Handler at its Birmingham, Alabama facility. The role involves loading and unloading material in a warehouse and moving it to and from trucks or trains and within the storage facility using material-handling equipment. The position follows instructions and established guidelines and typically does not require independent judgment. The Material Handler must work the second shift, Monday through Friday, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Overtime is required as needed. Candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug test upon offer of employment.

Requirements

Ability to work the second shift, Monday through Friday, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug test upon offer of employment.

Responsibilities

Load and unload material within a warehouse.
Move material to and from trucks or trains and within the storage facility using material-handling equipment.
Operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, stacker cranes, side loaders, and yard dogs.
Use hand tools, including grinders, banders, drills, hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, and wrenches.
Read a tape measure accurately.
Provide high-quality work to internal and external customers as it relates to the output of the position.
