About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Material Handler - 2nd Shift Data Comm at our Reno, NV facility! The hourly rate for this position is $22.73 + .50 Shift Differential per hour. CORE HOURS: 2:30PM - 11PM. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • A minimum 6 months of previous forklift experience or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver's license.
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the work location to be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitations.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1 year of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods
  • Load and unload trailers as required
  • Pick and pull stock for delivery
  • Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis
  • Organize material storage location in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis
  • Complete forklift inspection on a daily basis
  • Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler on a daily basis, operating cardboard baler, etc.)
  • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
  • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
