About The Position

Material Handler role in Sumter, SC, responsible for pallet/case picking, order processing, and pallet building in a distribution environment. Involves scanning, picking, labeling, packing, and palletizing shipments. 1 opening. Day shift (7AM- 7PM) on a 3-on/2-off/2-on/3-off rotation, including weekends. 10-panel drug screen required.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience
  • Minimum 6 months forklift driving experience required - no exceptions
  • High School Diploma, GED, or 1 year of relevant experience
  • Minimum 6 months forklift driving experience (mandatory, no exceptions)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Eye exam required
  • 10-panel drug screen required - must be completed within 48 hours of job offer acceptance
  • Able to start while background check is pending (once cleared)
  • Able to work in an environment involving walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing/pulling, and repetitive hand motions
  • Comfortable working near moving mechanical equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Stand-up forklift experience preferred
  • Walkie Ryder / motorized pallet jack experience preferred
  • RF scanner / Voice technology use
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
  • Multitasking in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • General distribution knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Process customer orders - scan barcodes, pick and label boxes
  • Pick, pack, and process orders using RF technology
  • Maintain acceptable work area per SOP and work instructions
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Complete RF device training to obtain necessary profiles
  • Verify accuracy and handle shipment packaging
  • Build pallets - scan, retrieve, and place completed orders
  • Re-palletize products for shipment
  • Perform dock manifest duties, including scanning pallets and running the shrink wrapper
  • Transport pallets using walking MHE (Material Handling Equipment)
  • Follow all safety instructions and report hazards, unsafe acts, or suspicious activity immediately
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Cross-train on other warehouse positions and act as backup during absences
