About The Position
The Material Handler is responsible for managing the ordering, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies. This role involves monitoring inventory levels, tracking shipments, liaising with suppliers, and preparing purchase orders. The position also requires conducting inventory audits, resolving shipment issues, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of storage areas. Additionally, the Material Handler will maintain knowledge of project materials and tools, coordinate the work of Inventory Specialists, and recommend process improvements. Safety training and paperwork maintenance are also key aspects of this role.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Understanding of materials used in construction or specific project
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Travel required
- Focusing on a computer screen for several hours at a time
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to endure activity involved with the job including prolonged and repeated lifting, bending, crouching, climbing, kneeling, reaching, standing and walking

Responsibilities
- Manage the ordering, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excesses; maintain accurate inventory records
- Track inbound and outbound shipments, verifying packaging and accompanying documents
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Prepare and process purchase orders
- Conduct and coordinate regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits
- Address and resolve issues related to damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of warehouses or storage areas
- Maintain knowledge of the material and tools used for project
- Coordinate and direct the work of any Inventory Specialists onsite
- Recommend and create any process improvements for streamlining the inventory processes
- Safety training as required by position
- Paperwork filing and maintenance as needed
- Other duties as assigned
