About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the ordering, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies. The Material Handler will monitor inventory levels, track shipments, liaise with suppliers, and prepare purchase orders. This position also involves conducting inventory audits, resolving shipment issues, maintaining warehouse organization, and staying knowledgeable about project materials and tools. Additionally, the role may involve directing the work of Inventory Specialists, recommending process improvements, and completing safety training and paperwork as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Understanding of materials used in construction or specific project
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Travel required

  • Prior inventory or material management experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ordering, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excesses; maintain accurate inventory records
  • Track inbound and outbound shipments, verifying packaging and accompanying documents
  • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Prepare and process purchase orders
  • Conduct and coordinate regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits
  • Address and resolve issues related to damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of warehouses or storage areas
  • Maintain knowledge of the material and tools used for project
  • Coordinate and direct the work of any Inventory Specialists onsite
  • Recommend and create any process improvements for streamlining the inventory processes
  • Safety training as required by position
  • Paperwork filing and maintenance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
