About The Position

As a Material Handler, you will load, unload, process, and store hazardous and nonhazardous waste materials at a permitted waste treatment facility with supervision. The role prioritizes health and safety and requires following company policies and applicable regulations while maintaining safe and clean operating areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of related experience.

Nice To Haves

40-hour HAZWOPER certificate.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and process solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with company, federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
Operate a fork truck and Bobcat with attachments.
Direct liquid waste through a system of pumps to tanks for storage.
Perform basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed.
Perform chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions and other issues.
Use barcode system equipment to document certain inventory activities.
Review laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materials.
Use Department of Transportation knowledge to match and label inbound materials for storage and ship containers to other sites.
Use appropriate equipment to take material samples for analysis and compatibility checks.
Operate a hydraulic baler for cardboard and other materials.
Maintain operating areas, walls, pipes, and floors in a clean and safe condition.
Use knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA, and permit regulations.
Use Arcwood coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment as needed, including boots, gloves, suits, eye and ear protection, and a respirator.
Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
