About The Position

Printpack Jackson is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Material Handler position. The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods, while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting production operations. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining smooth facility operations and ensuring materials are available when needed. This position will work 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM on a 2/2/3 schedule. Starting pay $19.96/hr.

Requirements

  • Previous forklift experience required
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain forklift certification)

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of material handling equipment, primarily forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), safely and efficiently
  • Perform daily safety inspections of lift equipment and complete required documentation
  • Load and unload trucks according to shipping and receiving schedules
  • Store and retrieve pallets within the plant, documenting inventory locations using handheld electronic devices
  • Stage materials at equipment locations according to production schedules
  • Move and manage Work-in-Process (WIP) pallets between machine locations and rack storage
  • Maintain organized storage areas and implement proper rack numbering systems
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and maintain accurate records
  • Complete all required safety documentation, checklists, and logs
  • Maintain cleanliness standards through 5S practices, including removal of empty pallets and waste management
  • Work in a safe manner.
  • Participate actively in Printpack’s Continuous Improvement Program
  • Other duties as assigned
