About The Position

PPG is hiring a Material Handler in Valencia, California. The role supports warehouse operations by receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products so that quality products are available to customers when needed. The position pays $24.98 starting and works one of two Monday-through-Friday schedules: 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

The Material Handler moves materials between receiving, production, storage, and other designated areas; handles and organizes items according to schedules, orders, or predetermined storage sequences; operates powered forklifts; and weighs chemicals for production as scheduled. The role requires consistent lifting of up to 50 pounds and wearing a respirator or other PPE as needed. Forklift certification and experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse.
• Load and unload products to and from delivery vehicles and designated storage areas.
• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine which items need to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Move materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences, such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Operate gas- or electric-powered forklifts to move, stack, load, or unload materials, parts, and finished goods.
• Load or unload trucks and use a Hi-Rise to load items into storage racks as needed.
• Weigh chemicals for production according to the schedule.
