About The Position

The Material Handler for Shipping & Receiving at Storyteller Overland oversees the efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials and ensures accurate shipping and receiving operations. The role supports the movement of goods through the supply chain by managing receipt, storage, and shipment of materials to retail and wholesale customers. It contributes to inventory accuracy, timely order fulfillment, customer satisfaction, and effective use of resources.

The position works with the Performance & Accessories division and collaborates across functions to support warehouse operations and a culture of teamwork, transparency, and mutual support. The work schedule is fixed or compressed, with details to be discussed in person.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that meets company standards.
• Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• A track record of working in a fast-paced position requiring a high level of attention to detail.
• Forklift certification or the ability to become certified within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods around the manufacturing floor.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and perform tasks involving reaching, stretching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Good visual acuity for inspecting components and products, reading technical documents, and operating machinery.
• Ability to hear and respond to alarms, machinery sounds, and coworker communication.
• Ability to sit for extended periods when performing computer work or documentation.
• Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including hot and cold weather, and take appropriate measures to maintain personal comfort and safety.

• Familiarity with NetSuite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receipt, inspection, and verification of incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.
• Prepare and execute outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and documentation.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to move goods throughout the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and track material movement using warehouse management systems.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy and availability.
• Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to optimize shipping schedules and deliveries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free shipping and receiving area.
• Assist with warehouse organization, material staging, and logistics coordination.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support the Performance & Accessories division and foster teamwork, transparency, and mutual support.
• Perform other duties as required to support warehouse operations and efficiency.
