About The Position
The Material Handler locates, audits, transfers, receives, and delivers kits and materials, while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting manufacturing or spares operations. The role may include satellite receiving, vendor-site pickups or drop-offs, cleanroom material preparation, inventory transactions in SAP or other systems, and monitoring shortages. Employees may also identify and process nonconforming material and address excess or obsolete stock through rework, transfer, or scrap, as directed. The position requires adherence to safety standards and documented processes; it may also involve training other Material Coordinators.
Responsibilities
- Locate, audit, and transfer kits or materials as required.
- Perform satellite receiving functions as needed.
- Pick up or drop off materials at vendor sites using a van or truck when required.
- Perform cycle counts to verify and maintain inventory.
- Identify and process nonconforming material.
- Prevent accumulation of excess or exceptional material under management direction.
- Move stock and replenish empty line-side bins in a manufacturing environment as needed.
- Receive parts and update inventory records, including transactions in Oracle or other inventory systems.
- Verify vendor deliveries before accepting parts or inventory.
- Monitor, update, and maintain shortage reports, including reviewing work orders, as needed.
- Purge excess and obsolete stock under supervisor direction, and take necessary action to rework, transfer, or scrap it.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles as assigned, which may include pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, vans, trucks, or overhead cranes.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols and follow documented business processes.
- Train other Material Coordinators as required.
- Regulate and prepare material for delivery to the cleanroom environment.
- Perform SAP transactions.
- Support inventory-management activities when assigned to a spares environment.
