About The Position

The Material Handler assists in producing quality parts by safely transporting parts and materials throughout the production facility and helping dispose of waste product properly. The role operates industrial forklifts to move materials and manually handles parts and supplies to production lines in a fast-paced environment. The position also involves routing, counting, inspecting, loading and unloading items, delivering and returning items, and scanning items for inventory. The employee must follow all safety rules and may perform other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor. Starting wage is $19.00 per hour. A shift differential of $2.00 per hour is offered for second shift and $3.00 per hour for third shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Forklift experience and experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, and attention to detail.
Ability to use an RF scanner.
Knowledge of safety practices.
Verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Safely transport parts and materials throughout the production facility.
Assist in the proper disposal of waste product.
Operate industrial forklifts to move materials around a warehouse, storage yard, factory, or similar location.
Manually handle parts and supply production lines at a fast pace.
Route, count, and inspect items while loading and unloading trucks.
Deliver and return items.
Scan items for inventory.
Know and follow all safety rules.
Perform other miscellaneous duties deemed necessary by the supervisor.
