About The Position

Roskam Foods is a contract manufacturer that produces and packages frozen, refrigerated, and shelf-stable food products. The Material Handler supports warehouse and production operations by safely moving, staging, and tracking materials so production lines have the supplies needed to run smoothly and deliveries are timely and complete. The role uses lifting equipment and may involve manually or mechanically loading and unloading materials. Employees are expected to follow FIFO order, check loads and equipment, and report problems through appropriate channels.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience as a forklift operator.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience with RF Smart or Microsoft Dynamics.

Responsibilities

Operate lifting devices such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevated platforms to load, unload, transport, or stack material.
Inspect product loads for accuracy and safely move them around the warehouse or facility to support timely and complete delivery.
Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure materials or products for transport to designated areas.
Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels.
Understand and follow the order of materials for FIFO.
Forecast production-line needs and stage the line with necessary materials to support smooth production.
Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify causes of errors, problems, or defects and report findings through appropriate channels.
