About The Position

This position is responsible for completing work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources. It involves collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations. The role requires carrying out tasks, communicating progress and information, and determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities. Adaptability to change, difficulties, and feedback is essential. The Material Handler manages freight flow by moving and loading freight manually and with powered equipment, such as a single and double pallet jack. This includes identifying, counting, separating, combining, and scanning freight, utilizing warehouse management system terminal scales and scanners, and maintaining records, logs, and forms. The role also involves complying with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Keeping the work area organized and maintaining freight flow by stacking empty pallets and moving empty pallets using a pallet jack and/or powered equipment is also a key responsibility. Additionally, monitoring freight to ensure cold chain and species compliance is required.

  • Ability to work the described schedule (06:30 am - 7:00 pm Sat-Mon)

  • Ability to operate powered equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if applicable)
  • Basic understanding of warehouse management systems and scanning technology
