About The Position

The Material Handler moves raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift. Cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment may also be used. The role works under direct supervision and handles basic issues and problems. It is performed on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery and has been designated safety sensitive. Employment consideration requires successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, which may include marijuana testing as permitted by applicable law.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and write English; in Quebec, ability to read and write French.
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds for 100 feet.
Ability to perform basic math skills.
Previous forklift experience.
Ability to sit for long periods and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping motions.
Safety mindset.

Nice To Haves

Experience using handheld measuring tools.
Basic computer skills and knowledge, including database programs and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Remove and stock products, customer products, and supplies according to the inventory plan.
Select products to fill customer orders and package them properly.
Load and unload trucks and verify that the correct items are moved.
Pick, process, and pack orders; cut orders on a Kaltenbach saw when required.
Complete cycle counts.
Identify, hold, and segregate defective material.
Complete paperwork according to work instructions when required.
Perform general cleanup.
Inspect the forklift at the beginning of each shift and report issues to a supervisor or designated personnel.
Participate in and comply with health, safety, ISO, and 6S initiatives and requirements.
Perform other duties to support operations as requested by a supervisor or team lead.
