About The Position

The Material Handler role involves transporting materials between departments, utilizing a tow motor or pallet jack, and clearing bundles from production lines to support production demands.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must have or be able to obtain Tow Motor operator certification.
  • Must be able to drive tow motor.
  • Ability to use pallet jack and clamp truck.
  • Must be able to read and understand instructions.
  • Must be able to use a computer and a RF scanner.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence and effectively work with other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Production Supervisors and Leads to determine assembly lines running and create rack schedules using the information provided from the daily production schedule.
  • Reads rack schedule or follows oral instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
  • Notifies Supervisor and Lead when stock quantities are low.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Transports materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
  • Clears bundles of products from production lines.
  • Runs bundles through the wrap machine.
  • Scans all bundles into the warehouse system via Oracle.
  • Puts away and stacks bundles in the warehouse.
  • Counts, weighs, and records materials moved or handled on scanner.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Assists with production line setup and breakdowns.
  • Loads recyclable materials onto the trailer.
  • Stacks pallet skids, breaks and bands reusable boxes and gaylords and transports to shipping.
  • Reads and communicates by email using Microsoft Office Outlook.
  • Assists with keeping receiving dock, rack, and bulk storage areas clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Assists with receiving responsibilities as needed.
  • Assists with other duties as instructed by Management.
