About The Position

The Material Handler, Retail works primarily in a production environment, moving, storing, and retrieving donated products according to Goodwill’s warehousing and material handling procedures. The role supports production flow by staging materials and matching them with production team members, keeping work moving efficiently, and ensuring items are handled safely and without damage. The position is part-time at Goodwill’s Broomfield Store and pays $18.01 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and complete a pre-employment drug screen. A forklift experience is a plus.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must complete a pre-employment drug screen.
• Able to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification and forklift certification.
• Able to operate a hydraulic baler and forklift.
• High attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
• Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting for up to 8 hours per day.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
• Able to work a varied schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime as necessary.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous storage, moving, or shipping and receiving experience.
• Prior forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed productivity standards and key performance indicators for assigned duties.
• Obtain and maintain certification to operate pallet jacks, walkie stackers, forklifts, hand dollies, and other applicable equipment or tools.
• Move, store, and retrieve donated products while keeping production areas supplied to minimize downtime.
• Prepare materials and storage containers in anticipation of production team needs.
• Keep the warehouse and trailers organized, stocked, and clean.
• Prepare items for shipment and track products shipped and received at retail center docks.
• Keep work areas clear and organized and follow continuous improvement and safety requirements.
• Handle items accurately, safely, and promptly to prevent damage throughout the product flow process.
• Promote and demonstrate positive teamwork and cooperation.
• Adapt to and use available technology, including process automation, to operate efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area for a safe and efficient workflow for employees and customers.
• Follow company and department policies and procedures.
• Cross-train and work in other areas as assigned by management.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.
