About The Position

As directed by the Shift Supervisor, this role is responsible for managing the flow of raw materials and finished/semi-finished goods into and out of the production area/mezzanine. The Material Handler must be fully familiar with all work order packaging documents and production data collection forms. They will perform all Operator and Utility handler duties, ensuring that safety and quality procedures are followed and maintained in all areas. Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Licensed qualified forklift/electric pallet jack operator.
  • Prepared to work in a co-operative environment.
  • Utility handler skills.
  • Willing and physically able to fulfill the job requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the flow of raw materials and finished/semi-finished goods into and out of the production area/mezzanine.
  • Ensure familiarity with all Work order packaging documents and productions data collection forms.
  • Perform all Operator and Utility handler duties.
  • Ensure that Safety and quality procedures are followed and maintained in all areas.
  • Maintain working knowledge of mold tech set up, and resin supply system.
  • Understand work order, mold tech change forms and packaging documents.
  • Complete color changes with minimal scrap, documenting KPI per color change forms.
  • Provide break coverage and minimize downtime.
  • Perform rail car hook up per process.
  • Understand silo system metering system.
  • Manage regrind silo/usage per Injection molding machine requirements.
  • Understand operations processes and data tracking procedures.
  • Operate auxiliary equipment, hot stampers, gasket installers functions.
  • Enter Shop Logix codes.
  • Manage MII label printing process.
  • Bring forward continuous improvement initiatives to improve orientating and retaining new employees.
  • Coach team members on safety policy, and infraction documentation.
  • Identify and bring forward improvement opportunities to either Shift Supervisor and/or Operations Manager.
  • Ensure operational quality related processes are maintained.
  • Coach team members on Quality process.
