About The Position

Under direct supervision, this role handles and maintains the flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines. It provides information for recording the movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies. The position may involve operating motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, unpacking and checking goods against purchase orders or invoices, and maintaining records of received goods. The Material Handler will also prepare and maintain records of items shipped and comply with documentation and record-keeping procedures. Additionally, they may prepare goods for final shipment and/or production assembly, examine, stock, and distribute goods in inventory, and enter information into the inventory management system. Training others in distribution-related tasks and working from engineering drawings or following documented assembly/packaging instructions are also potential duties. The role requires the ability to operate computer-related programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior manufacturing or related experience
  • Forklift Operation experience
  • General computer skills

  • Ability to operate common material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, scales, label maker, PC, etc.)
