About The Position

The Material Handler I is responsible for operating forklifts and cherry pickers to unload materials and merchandise from incoming trucks and pick product for shipment. The role involves accurately picking, weighing, checking, and packing orders while meeting customer-specific requirements. The employee also supports inventory activities, maintains warehouse and shipping supplies, reports stock or product issues, and keeps the warehouse clean and orderly. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The position is performed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse.

Requirements

Must be certified to operate forklifts and cherry pickers.
Strong English communication proficiency, including reading, writing, and verbal interactions, is required to comply with safety protocols and operational procedures.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
One or more years of related job experience preferred.
RF handheld experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts and cherry pickers.
Accurately pick parts throughout the warehouse.
Weigh product using the proper scales.
Check part numbers and quantities with a high degree of accuracy.
Pack orders accurately into shipping cartons and verify all order components are present for the correct customer.
Read customer order notes and fulfill special customer requirements.
Maintain stock of warehouse and shipping supplies.
Assist with physical inventory counts and perform inventory audits as needed.
Notify the Department Lead or Department Supervisor of stock shelf issues.
Report defective materials or products, shortages, and questionable conditions to the Lead or Supervisor.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness and orderliness.
Follow all safety rules.
Perform other duties as assigned.
