About The Position

The Material Handler I is responsible for assisting the various laboratories, maintaining the right levels of inventory, and acting as a back-up for Facilities management support.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Forklift Certification preferred, not required
• California Drivers License as Required
• Previous work experience in a lab preferred
• Excellent attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules
• Ability to work independently in a team environment
• AI & Digital Fluency
• Demonstrate curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to critically evaluate and responsibly leverage AI-enabled tools in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of work.
• Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in receiving, stockroom, shipping, material handling and inventory analysis roles.
• Experience in rapid-growth life science environment working with temperature-sensitive materials a plus
• Must be able to create and maintain excel skills on a need basis
• Experience in implementing, executing and improving cycle count programs, 2 bin systems
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with ordering supplies

Responsibilities

• Receiving and processing incoming material
• Securely and safely storing temperature sensitive materials
• Issuing material to work orders and other uses
• Ensuring that all necessary transactions are completed in the ERP system
• Performing cycle counts
• Analyzing inventory discrepancies
• Enter Data into ERP system - Cycle Count Module, Receiving parts, Shipping parts, RMA returns
• Fill out commercial invoice
• Track Freight With various carriers on a need basis
• Use Hand Trucks, Pallet Jacks, and Scales safely and effectively
• Perform other duties as assigned
