About The Position

This role involves engaging in packaging, loading, unloading, storing, and transporting materials and products. The Material Handler is responsible for on-time delivery and quality as it pertains to shipping functions, and ensures correct SAP transactions for receipts and inventory movements. The position requires adherence to EH&S policies, participation in SWATs, and following C-TPAT regulations. The role operates Material Handling Equipment for loading, unloading, and internal movement of materials, maintains logs, and transfers finished goods while ensuring quality and integrity. Responsibilities also include performing cycle inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, performing daily equipment inspections, and maintaining effective communication and teamwork. The role may also involve acting as a courier, using hand tools, supporting the 5S program, and assisting in other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6+ months of sit-down-forklift experience being primary function within the past 4 years.
  • Qualified Industrial Equipment operator.
  • Experienced computer knowledge.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Previous experience with shipping/receiving documents.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, cut resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses, hearing protection).
  • Ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
  • 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow and green is required.
  • Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Operation (i.e. Forklifts, Carts or vehicles with a motor, etc.) requires 20/40 vision in each eye separately and both eyes (with or without correction), the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green and peripheral vision >70 degrees.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with handheld scanners is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in packaging, loading, unloading, storing, and transporting materials and products.
  • Ensure on-time delivery and quality as it pertains to shipping functions.
  • Ensure correct SAP transactions are made for receipts and items issues in/out of inventory.
  • Follow EH&S policies.
  • Participate in SWATs.
  • Perform all shipping/receiving requirements, including product packaging and shipping as directed and in a safe manner.
  • Follow the rules and regulations of C-TPAT.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment; loads and unloads vehicles as well as internal movement of material.
  • Maintain daily shipping/receiving activity log.
  • Transfer finished goods from manufacturing to offsite warehouse ensuring the quality and integrity of the pallet remains intact.
  • Perform daily/weekly cycle inventory counts and assist in the investigation of any inventory variances.
  • Perform daily equipment inspection including bucks, forklifts, battery and any equipment moved by the forklift.
  • Perform SAP transactions for receipts and items issues in/out.
  • Work with supporting departments on investigating any inventory/receipts discrepancies.
  • Maintain effective communications levels and foster team building in and outside the department.
  • Practice good housekeeping and in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Act as courier.
  • Use hand tools such as nail guns, air hose, etc.
  • Support 5S program.
  • Perform other assignments as required, including assisting in Production and other departments when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
