About The Position

Responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, receipt, and shipment of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods throughout the facility. Ensures accurate inventory transactions, product traceability, and timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • A minimum of one (1) year similar experience or training in an office environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one situations to employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, products, and supplies from internal departments, customers, and external vendors.
  • Verify incoming shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, work orders, and receiving documentation.
  • Inspect incoming containers for damage and report discrepancies or concerns to management.
  • Maintain product identification, lot traceability, and proper labeling requirements.
  • Move raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods to designated staging and storage locations.
  • Deliver materials to production departments to support daily manufacturing requirements.
  • Return completed products to designated departments or locations.
  • Coordinate movement of product to and from outside processing vendors.
  • Receive and process returned products from outside processing vendors.
  • Provide weight and shipment information required for outside processing and freight activities.
  • Prepare material for shipment, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, and documentation.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform inventory transactions and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels in production staging areas and replenish materials as needed.
  • Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices where applicable.
  • Ensure products are stored and handled in a manner that prevents damage or contamination.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and delivery vehicles.
  • File and maintain shipping, receiving, inventory, and vendor documentation.
  • Communicate material shortages, damaged materials, inventory discrepancies, and delivery issues to supervisors.
  • Support production departments by responding to material requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with scrap collection, sorting, and movement to designated areas as required.
  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and safety initiatives.
  • Assist during audits, inventory reconciliations, and quality inspections as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Review material requirements and production needs at the beginning of each shift.
  • Verify and deliver materials to production departments.
  • Move completed product between departments and staging locations.
  • Check inventory levels of wire.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and location records.
  • Conduct routine forklift and material handling equipment inspections.
  • Keep aisles, storage locations, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Ensure all containers are properly identified and labeled.
  • Monitor staging areas for material shortages or excess inventory.
  • Support production personnel with material requests throughout the shift.
  • Reconcile receiving paperwork and vendor documentation.
  • Assist with any cycle counts and inventory accuracy checks.
