About The Position

The Material Coordinator will be responsible for various duties within the material function, including inventory control, material planning, and distribution. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of material flow within the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school, vocational training, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the use of computer applications.
  • One year of general clerical experience.
  • Minimal functional process knowledge may be required.
  • Office Skills: typing, telephones, office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, database systems).
  • Ability to type accurately.
  • Experience in the use of computer applications.
  • Inventory Experience.
  • BAAN or any ERP experience.
  • Inventory Cycle count experience.

Responsibilities

  • Compute the amount of material required to complete job orders.
  • Review production schedules and confer with purchasing to define the adequacy of raw materials.
  • Requisition material and establish sequential delivery dates to departments, avoiding excess inventory.
  • Examine material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Compile and maintain manual and computerized records of material inventory, in-process production reports, and material status and location.
  • Create, update, execute, and analyze reports.
  • Gather data, track, post, and pitch for action plans and root cause analysis.
  • Prioritize data entry activities.
  • Monitor and control the movement of material and parts for accurate inventory.
  • Write and update procedures in document control.
  • Follow all distribution-related ISO procedures and Material Handling Guidelines.
  • Conduct training sessions for department's MRP procedures.
  • Administer the inventory cycle count program, reconcile discrepancies, resolve issues, and analyze inventory cycle count reports.
  • Identify parts and supplies that need to be ordered to maintain specified stocking levels.
  • Analyze stock usage and define correct stocking levels.
  • Investigate unusual high usage of materials and parts and suggest methods of correction.
  • Stock and issue materials or merchandise.
  • Add new part numbers to current inventory based on input from manufacturing.
  • Verify the accuracy of the material kit versus the pick list for correct parts.
  • Track defect levels on inspected kits, calculate quality performance, chart results, develop process improvements, and schedule the work of others.
