About The Position

The Material Coordinator is responsible for verifying various documentation, preparing shipping documentation, and coordinating the movement and shipping of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. This role involves working with transportation brokers, operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE), organizing packages and freight, and maintaining accurate records of material shipping status. The position also requires preparing production reports and maintaining a professional workstation. Key responsibilities include verifying Funds Verification and Use Authorization requests (FUVAs), shipping documents (DD1149), and Proposed Sourcing Decision (PSD). The coordinator will prepare shipping documentation and manage the movement of various classes of materials within the Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS). They will also work with transportation brokers to arrange commercial Bills of Lading and operate MHE for consolidating and loading shipments. Organizing both high and low priority shipments, maintaining computerized and manual records, and preparing production reports are also essential duties. Maintaining a professional work environment and performing other assigned duties are expected.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to pass the DoD Ammo 62 HAZMAT certification.
  • Military Logistics occupations experience.
  • Experience with Federal Logistics Data (FEDLOG) and Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).
  • Be able to create an Excel dashboard in real-time that can receive any input data on the weekly report tracker product workbook.
  • Be able to pick up and movement items within a 50 lbs. restriction.
  • Be capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years in order to obtain NACI and CAC Card eligibility.
  • Ability to pass a post offer drug screen clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and background checks related to the position.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • GCSS Army Certified.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies Funds Verification and Use Authorization requests (FUVAs), shipping documents (DD1149), Proposed Sourcing Decision (PSD) and shipping labels.
  • Prepares shipping documentation and coordinates the movement and shipping of hazardous materials, CL II, VII, VIII, IX, non-sensitive and sensitive items within the Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).
  • Works with transportation brokers to award Commercial Bills of Lading for shipments.
  • Operates MHE to move and consolidate bulk items awaiting shipping disposition and to load shipments in trucks for transport.
  • Organizes high priority and low priority small packages and freight.
  • Establishes and maintains computerized and manual records of material shipping status, locations, and transactions.
  • Prepares production report based on Data compiled, tabulated and computed, following prescribed formats and governing rules, regulations and policies.
  • Maintain workstation and department area in a highly professional manner and appearance.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
